A family reached out to NCC and asked if we would consider starting a youth group, as she had seen a strong need in the youth that come to her house daily. My wife and I chuckled, as the last church we planted began with a youth group. However, why should this surprise us? The youth are starving and thirsty to find purpose, to know they matter. In a life that is geared to be negative, it becomes the only language they hear. It is hard to believe anything else, and they become cogs in a never-ending history of pain.
So, here at NetCast, we decided to start a youth group with another church body, Live Oak. Every Sunday, we work alongside each other to bring the love of Christ to the next generation, one person at a time.
A verse that guides and encourages us in this mission is directed to the youth:
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” — 1 Timothy 4:12
